Description
The Security Officer will provide access control, safeguard departmental facilities, protect personnel and assets, and support the implementation of security policies and procedures. The role ensures compliance with security standards and contributes to a safe and controlled environment within the Department of Agriculture.

Responsibilities
- Manage access control for employees, visitors, equipment, and vehicles.
- Patrol buildings and premises to identify safety, fire, or security risks.
- Prevent unauthorized access and removal of equipment or documents.
- Operate security equipment (e.g., X-ray machines) and secure entrances.
- Apply emergency procedures during incidents (e.g., fire, bomb scare).
- Record incidents, maintain occurrence books, and complete registers.
- Escort visitors and monitor suspicious behaviour.
Requirements
- Grade 11 or higher.
- PSIRA Grade C registration (Essential).
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, after-hours, and public holidays.
- Knowledge of security regulations: MISS, MPSS, Protection of Information Act, etc.
- Understanding of access control and safety procedures.
