Description

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is seeking a reliable and organised Administrative Clerk to support operations at the Themba Animal Clinic. The successful candidate will perform a range of clerical duties including data capturing, filing, reception, procurement, and general office administration. This role requires strong communication, computer, and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work in an environment with various animal species.

Responsibilities

•  Record, organise, store, capture, and retrieve clinical data and correspondence
•  Update clinical registers and databases
•  File documents and manage document registers
•  Make photocopies, send/receive emails, and type correspondence
•  Handle routine public enquiries and answer clinic telephone calls
•  Welcome clients at the reception and assist with form completion
•  Manage appointment bookings for veterinary procedures
•  Act as a scribe for Animal Health meetings
•  Maintain registers: leave, attendance, and incoming/outgoing documents
•  Assist with maintaining personnel records
•  Obtain quotations and complete procurement forms
•  Monitor and control office stationery and petty cash
•  Maintain the clinic's asset register

Requirements

•  Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
