Swiss Re is offering a 12-month temporary internship opportunity in Cape Town, Western Cape.

The internship is within a high-performing Life & Health Claims and Underwriting environment.

The successful candidate will support experts in the team, contribute to day-to-day operations, and develop a foundation in reinsurance.

The role offers exposure to claims, underwriting, administration, client service, reporting, event coordination, and internal communication support.

Gross monthly salary: R9,000

Work model: Hybrid, with interns expected to be in the office at least 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Accurately capture data and complete case induction to ensure records are complete and compliant with internal standards.
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure processes are followed.
• Deliver excellent and responsive client service.
• Support underwriting and claims case allocation.
• Track and report on underwriting and claims cases to support efficient workflow management.
• Maintain set standards and targets.
• Contribute to a culture of quality and accountability.
• Manage Life Guide and Claims Guide role allocation and password management.
• Ensure smooth system access for team members.
• Complete SharePoint updates and UCR administration duties.
• Assist with preparing presentations, client resource materials, and handouts.
• Support client engagement and internal communications.
• Assist with seminar and event coordination.
• Help plan and execute team and client-facing events.
• Support ad-hoc duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to team needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
  • Finance
  • Business Administration
  • Related field
• Up to 1 year of working experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to interpret, organise, and analyse data accurately.
