Gijima is recruiting a Field Service Engineer Intern for its offices in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.

The internship is within the Information Technology field and focuses on field service engineering, end-user support, desktop support, incident resolution, and IT equipment support.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-user support.
• Resolve logged incidents.
• Communicate professionally.
• Dress professionally.

• Ensure incidents are resolved on first contact within SLA.
• Ensure compliance with pending rules.
• Ensure quality data input.
• Ensure data captured on Resolve IT incidents is accurate.
• Conduct preventative maintenance.
• Identify possible risks.
• Deploy, monitor, repair, support, and manage desktops.
• Manage Windows operating systems.
• Support office automation software.
• Support printers.
• Support scanners.
• Set up desktops and peripherals.
• Test network connections.
• Install software.

Requirements

• Completed 3-year tertiary qualification in IT, such as:
  • Diploma in IT
  • Support Services
  • Computer Systems
  • BSc in IT
• Valid driver’s license will be an advantage.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be proficient in:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Access
  • Email
  • Internet
• No criminal record.
• Must currently be unemployed.
• Must not be participating in another learnership or internship programme.
• Must not currently be enrolled with any other tertiary institution.
• Must currently live in the Richards Bay area.
• Relocation is not an option.
• Must be under the age of 35 as of 31 July 2026.
• Must be a South African citizen.
