RCL Foods is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SHER Intern FTC to join its Milling Division in Pretoria West, Gauteng.

RCL Foods is a South African food manufacturer that produces brands such as Yum Yum peanut butter, Nola mayonnaise, Ouma rusks, and Selati sugar.

Responsibilities

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

• Providing technical support in the improvement, maintenance, and monitoring of existing management systems and standard operating procedures.
• Ensuring adherence to all company HSE processes and procedures.
• Conducting and compiling routine safety compliance, inspections, and audits against authorisations, guidelines, and legislation.
• Creating action plans for addressing areas of non-compliance.
• Conducting proactive planned and unplanned safety inspections and producing reports.
• Ensuring fire extinguishers and first aid boxes are compliant, serviced, and not blocked.
• Conducting and reviewing risk assessments.
• Actively compiling information for weekly, monthly, and various report submissions.
• Scheduling and conducting emergency response drills.
• Compiling information and participating in incident investigations.
• Ensuring that noticeboards display important HSE information.
• Attending and writing minutes of HSE statutory meetings.
• Assisting in driving the CAPAs, Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions, system.
• Ordering and issuing personal protective equipment.
• Conducting daily inductions.
• Preparing monthly PPE reconciliation reports.
• Participating in monthly departmental meetings.
• Capturing training records daily on the SHEQ-X system.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12, passed.
• National Diploma in Environmental Science or Safety Management.
• SAMTRAC will be advantageous.
• Computer literacy, including:
