Description

Fieldworkers are responsible for collecting data from households within their local communities during Stats SA’s various surveys and projects. This is a contract-based opportunity where fieldworkers operate within their own communities, going door-to-door to gather socio-economic data using mobile devices.

Responsibilities

•  Go door-to-door to collect data from households.
•  Communicate clearly and effectively with respondents.
•  Accurately record responses on a mobile data collection tool.
•  Ensure all collected data meets required quality standards.
•  Meet daily targets for household visits and data submissions.
•  Follow instructions from supervisors and attend required training.
•  Return all issued work tools at the end of the assignment.

Requirements

•  Have a minimum of a Senior Certificate (Matric or equivalent).
•  Be proficient in any of the 11 official languages.
•  Be willing to work over weekends and outside of normal office hours.
•  Be an RSA citizen with no criminal record.

Skills & Competencies

•  Good communication skills
•  Driver’s license will be an added advantage
•  Computer Literacy
•  Ability to operate a mobile device
