Description

The Dispatch Assistant is responsible for inspecting, packing, shelving, and preparing unserviceable aircraft spares for shipment. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders (especially the planning department) and shipping companies to ensure that spares are correctly processed, logged, and dispatched with minimal delays. This is a hands-on role with high attention to detail, accuracy, and process compliance.

Responsibilities

•  Inspect spares and verify documentation before warehousing
•  Ensure spares are flushed and prepared for safe shipment
•  Correctly pack and shelf spares to prevent further damage
•  Conduct daily stock checks and update the SAM system
•  Coordinate movements on SAM with planning department
•  Arrange pickup and delivery with shipping companies
•  Maintain a clean and audit-ready dispatch area
•  Communicate progress and updates to internal/external stakeholders

Requirements

•  Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
•  1–2 years warehouse experience (Essential)
•  Physically fit and able to lift/move cargo (Essential)
•  Willingness to work overtime and 24-hour shifts (Essential)
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  ERP system knowledge (Advantageous)
•  Dangerous goods and aircraft spares packing knowledge (Advantageous)
•  Deadline-driven with ability to work independently
