Description

The Department of Roads and Transport is looking for a reliable and hardworking Groundsman to maintain the cleanliness and condition of the premises and surrounding environment through basic gardening and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

•  Clean and maintain gardens and outdoor areas
•  Water plants, mow lawns, trim hedges and trees
•  Remove weeds and garden refuse
•  Apply insecticides and prepare soil for planting
•  Maintain and store gardening tools and equipment
•  Report and repair minor equipment defects

Requirements

•  ABET or Grade 9

Skills & Competencies

•  Good verbal and written communication skills
•  Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
•  Basic understanding of gardening tools and procedures
•  Basic numeracy skills
