Job Description

The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is inviting applications for the position of Photocopier Operator: Workshop at the Pretoria Regional Office.

The successful candidate will provide support services related to document reproduction and the operation of heavy-duty photocopying machines. The role includes receiving and recording photocopying requests, operating photocopying equipment, checking output quality, setting up machines, maintaining records, and assisting users with photocopying services.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with a minimum Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 qualification. No experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services for document reproduction.
• Receive and document requests for heavy-duty photocopying.
• Assist with the procurement of reproduction-related logistics.
• Assist with the control and use of heavy-duty photocopying machines.
• Control and adjust photocopying machine settings.
• Fix operational glitches where required.
• Test machine output during the day.
• Check photocopy output to identify mistakes or flaws.
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
• Set up machines, including calibration, cleaning, and related setup tasks.
• Feed raw paper into the photocopying machine.
• Assist users with the general use of photocopying machines.
• Inform clients when documents have been bonded and are ready for collection.
• Keep stores of lubricants and tools used for machine support.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 qualification.
• No experience required.
• Knowledge of machinery and tool operation.
• Knowledge of departmental procurement processes.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Ability to operate a heavy-duty photocopying machine.
