Description

The Tshwane Metro Police Department is seeking to appoint 200 Metro Police Trainees. This opportunity is aimed at dedicated, energetic, and physically fit individuals who are committed to serving the community and building a career in law enforcement. Successful candidates will undergo the Metro Policing Training Programme and, upon completion, serve as functional Metro Police Officers.

Responsibilities

•  Enforce the National Road Traffic Act (Act 93 of 1996)
•  Perform traffic policing duties
•  Enforce municipal by-laws and regulations
•  Engage in crime prevention activities
•  Promote safety and law enforcement in the Tshwane region

Requirements

•  Grade 12 (matric) certificate
•  Valid manual transmission driver’s licence
•  Aged between 18 and 35 years
•  South African citizen and resident of Tshwane (proof of residence required)
•  No criminal record or pending cases
•  Medically fit with a certificate confirming ability for strenuous exercise
•  Must pass a physical fitness assessment
•  Willing to undergo and pass a psychometric evaluation
•  Proficient in English and able to pass an assessment
•  Not declared unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act
•  No visible tattoos when in uniform
•  Willing to sign and uphold the Tshwane Metro Police Department code of conduct
