We are looking for enthusiastic young people interested in joining our 12-month learnership programme for Baristas. Trainees will gain an understanding of everything about Coffee.
We will upskill you to a Barista and train/upskill you in Food Safety and Customer Service. Furthermore, you will learn about various coffee and relevant product preparation and presentation techniques.
Prepare and present all coffee and relevant products.
To be responsible for the Barista area for the duration of the shift.
Correct cleaning, sterilization, and utilization of all equipment.
Adhering to the company’s hygiene and safety standards.
To receive and check all raw materials/ ingredients received from the store/fridges daily to procedures.
To prepare coffee daily according to the procedures and recipes.
To clean/sterilize/fill/connect the following machinery/equipment before preparing orders according to procedures.
To adhere strictly to all hygiene and housekeeping standards always relating to the soft serve area, including the cleaning schedules for the following (but not exhaustive of): -Walls -Fridges -Cupboards -Floors -Windows -Work surfaces, etc.
To empty, clean with water, sterilize, and disconnect all machinery/equipment at the end of the day according to procedures.
To store any excess ingredients/stocks in Tupperware in the fridge at the end of the day by following procedures.
To always adhere to the company’s standards regarding customer relations, where contact with customers may be made.
To assist in any other areas of the business as requested and by procedures/standards.
To adhere to the company’s safety standards and to report any accident that may occur timely manner by the procedures/standards.
To be always punctual and keep absenteeism to a minimum, to the company policy.
To adhere strictly to the standards of dress code as communicated by the company, ensuring that uniforms are always maintained in a neat and clean condition.
To perform any other reasonable tasks that may be assigned at the discretion of Management.
Requirements
Grade 12
No criminal record
Unemployed
Basic computer literacy skills, e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Age criteria: 18-34 years old.
Have not been in a YES Programme in the past
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods
Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
