Description
The Hospitality Trainee will provide support in the college’s hospitality department by assisting with food preparation, stock control, menu planning, and practical demonstrations. The role involves maintaining kitchen standards, supporting lecturers during training sessions, and supervising students during events and functions.
Responsibilities
- Orders (compiling and placing orders);
- Stock taking (food and equipment);
- Store keeping, issuing ingredients;
- Nutrition and menu planning;
- Assisting lecturers with class demonstrations;
- Cooking food for crèche;
- Liaising with suppliers;
- Generating quotations;
- Assist with / plan functions;
- Keeping MSDS in kitchen up to date;
- Ensuring kitchen OHS admin is up to date;
- Supervise students during functions, restaurant days.
Requirements
- N6 Hospitality Certificate.
- Previous experience in a hospitality training environment is an advantage.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under supervision.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
