The University of the Free State is offering an Intern: Industrial Psychology contract appointment for 12 months.

The internship is aimed at candidates who have successfully completed their M1 coursework in Industrial Organisational Psychology and need practical workplace exposure for the purpose of registering as an Industrial Psychologist with the HPCSA.

Assumption of duties: 01 January 2027

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as stipulated in the 12-month Industrial Organisational Psychology internship programme.
• Participate in internship activities that must be approved by the HPCSA.
• Gain exposure to Career Psychology and Employee Well-Being.
• Gain exposure to Organisational Behaviour.
• Gain exposure to Human Resources / Personnel Psychology.
• Gain exposure to Psychometrics, including testing and assessments.
• Participate in elective areas.
• Participate in professional development activities and supervision.
• Apply professional ethics.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Masters coursework / M1.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Student Psychologist.
• Must not be studying full time.
• Classes should preferably be after hours.
• Must be willing to sign an internship agreement with the University of the Free State.
• Must be available for a period of 12 months.
