General Worker

Description

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit General Worker to join our team in Vanderbijlpark. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the premises, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and ensuring outdoor walkways are debris-free. Duties also include assisting with tea service, emptying trash, and reporting any repair needs. Candidates must be able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, have good communication skills, and work well independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

•  Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
•  Clean offices, restrooms, and communal areas daily
•  Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly
•  Ensure outdoor walkways are clean and free of debris
•  Report any maintenance or repair issues to management
•  Assist office staff with making tea
•  Perform general housekeeping and cleaning of the entire premises
•  Maintain a clean and safe working environment
•  Carry out all reasonable instructions from supervisors

Requirements

•  Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4
•  Medically fit
•  Reliable and punctual
•  Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
•  Clean criminal record
•  Own reliable transport to and from work

Skills & Competencies

•  Physically able to walk, bend, push, pull, and lift repetitively
•  Able to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery
•  Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper storage/disposal methods
•  Excellent communication and teamwork skills
•  Strong organizational skills
•  Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
•  Able to follow all safety requirements and supervisor instructions
