General Worker

Description

Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking six (6) hardworking and reliable individuals to assist with general labour duties at landfill sites, transfer stations, and within waste management operations. The ideal candidate must be physically fit, willing to perform manual work, and committed to keeping public spaces clean and safe.

Responsibilities

•  Perform general labour at landfill sites and transfer stations
•  Control litter and maintain cleanliness of public areas
•  Sweep streets, pavements, taxi/bus ranks
•  Collect and dispose of refuse from households and businesses
•  Empty public dustbins and clean municipal facilities
•  Load and offload materials and assist with recycling operations
•  Carry out other waste management duties as directed by supervisors

Requirements

•  Minimum of Grade 10 (Basic Literacy)
•  Grade 12 and a valid driver’s license will be an added advantage
•  Must be a resident of Midvaal Local Municipality
•  01-year relevant experience in general work related to Waste management within a municipality.

Skills & Competencies

•  Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (must be bilingual)
•  Ability to follow & execute given instructions.
•  Good physical health, basic skill & know how of doing physical work.
•  A hard-working self-disciplined person.
