Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is inviting applications for a Receiving Clerk position at its Thatchfield Store in Centurion, Gauteng.
The successful candidate will ensure the efficient and accurate receiving, checking, scanning, capturing, and packing of stock according to Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and store requirements.
This role is suitable for candidates who are organised, numerically strong, computer literate, physically fit, and able to work in a retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately verify, scan, and capture physical goods received for the store.
- Receive warehouse goods and invoices according to company policies and procedures.
- Return unordered or damaged goods delivered to the store.
- Complete credit notes for non-accepted goods according to company procedures.
- Verify and check deliveries and invoices for accuracy.
- Ensure goods delivered match the invoiced goods in quantity, variant, and condition.
- Assist the Receiving Manager with warehouse claims.
- Prepare and log warehouse claims on the warehouse claims system.
- Ensure stock receipts flow smoothly through the receiving area.
- Ensure deliveries are receipted on the same day and sent to the sales floor.
- Process supplier returns according to company procedures.
- Ensure physical controls over the goods receiving area are in place and operational.
- Maintain storerooms in an acceptable and orderly condition.
- Assist with managing and controlling high-risk stock.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Computer literate.
- Sound numerical skills.
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Able and physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes of 20kg or more.
- Reliable transport or residence close to the store.
- South African citizen.
- Clear credit record.
- Clear criminal record.
