Description

The Department of Defence is recruiting an Administration Clerk for the Defence International Affairs Division at the Armscor Building in Erasmuskloof, Pretoria.

The position provides general clerical, supply chain, personnel and financial administration support services.

Responsibilities

• Record, organise, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data.
• Update registers and statistics.
• Handle routine enquiries.
• Make photocopies.
• Receive or send facsimiles.
• Distribute documents and packages to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain the office filing system.
• Type letters and other correspondence when required.
• Maintain the office’s incoming and outgoing document register.
• Provide supply chain clerical support services.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding the procurement of goods and services.
• Obtain quotations.
• Complete procurement forms for the purchase of office supplies.
• Control office stationery stock.
• Maintain the Division’s asset register.
• Provide personnel administration clerical support services.
• Maintain the leave register.
• Maintain personnel records and the attendance register.
• Arrange travel and accommodation.
• Provide financial administration support services.
• Capture and update expenditure.
• Check the correctness of officials’ subsistence and travel claims.
• Submit subsistence and travel claims for approval.
• Handle telephone accounts and petty cash.

Requirements

• Grade 12 at NQF Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
• No experience is required.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of PMFA.
• Basic knowledge of Treasury Regulations relating to procurement and expenditure control.

Salary: R237 453 – R279 708 per annum (Level 05)
