Cashbuild is hiring a Cashier for external applications in Thulamahashe, South Africa.

The role is responsible for accurate handling of all Point of Sale transactions and documentation, ensuring customer satisfaction, and making sure that no goods or stock pass through the Point of Sale without being paid for.

Responsibilities

Cash Handling

• Ensure all cash, including floats and petty cash allocated to you, balances with no shorts or overs.
• Ensure goods are correctly identified and captured on the Point of Sale terminal.
• Capture the correct payment type received from customers on the Point of Sale terminal.
• Ensure sufficient change is available at all times.
• Ensure pick-ups are done accurately and within set parameters.
• Ensure cash-ups are done accurately at the end of the shift.
• Ensure all daily takings are dropped into the Drop Safe / vault.
• Ensure transactions relating to other stores’ money, deliveries, and quotes are processed correctly.

Administration

• Sign, compile, and file all related documentation relating to the cashier function.

Ready for Business

• Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond my Control as per the CB Way.

Customer Service

• Offer fast, friendly, and efficient service to all Cashbuild customers when checking in and out customers’ goods.
• Direct customers to the relevant person who can assist them.
• Comply with the company’s dress code.

Safety Requirements

• Comply with Safety / OHSA requirements within the area of responsibility.
• Ensure customer and staff safety.
• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.

Security Awareness

• Ensure system password control at the till point is adhered to.
• Ensure cash safekeeping and transport to the cash office is done according to Cashbuild Way requirements.

Requirements

• Grade 12; or
• Minimum 1 year work-related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to communicate in the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Strong administration skills.
