The Local Choice Pharmacy is recruiting a Casual Frontshop Assistant in Thatcfield, Pretoria.

The position is responsible for maintaining merchandising standards, handling stock and providing friendly customer service in accordance with The Local Choice Corporate Stores policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Restock merchandise when required to support maximum sales.
• Ensure delivered stock and stock removed from the storeroom are immediately stored and packed in the correct space.
• Maintain stock on shelves and ensure products have not reached their sell-by dates.
• Rotate stock according to the First In, First Out principle.
• Ensure full product ranges are available on the shelves.
• Follow The Local Choice Corporate Stores stock-control procedures.
• Keep the storeroom organised, neat and tidy.
• Report low-stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
• Assist with cycle counts and general stocktaking.
• Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and take them to the designated area.
• Ensure boxes are checked by the security guard.
• Identify and report damaged and expired stock immediately.
• Follow merchandising policies, operating standards, store layouts and merchandising layouts.
• Ensure front-shop shelves and products are neat and visible.
• Ensure labels and prices are correct.
• Report price discrepancies to management.
• Remain informed about new products and maintain current product knowledge.
• Build, face up, stock and maintain merchandising displays.
• Maintain the daily physical upkeep of the store and merchandise displays.
• Take responsibility for designated stock in the storeroom and on the shop floor.
• Assist with loading and off-loading stock when required.
• Clearly mark items without barcodes.
• Assist with back shopping when required.
• Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
• Provide friendly, helpful and courteous assistance and advice to customers.
• Follow up on customer queries relating to out-of-stock products.
• Resolve customer stock queries within a reasonable time.
• Wear the correct uniform and name badge.
• Assist with training new and current team members.
• Report suspicious behaviour involving staff or customers to management.
• Keep the workstation clean and tidy.
• Follow company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Follow health and safety rules and regulations.
• Follow the company’s uniform and personal appearance policy.
• Provide regular feedback to the store manager and field service advisers.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or Matric.
• Zero to six months of retail work experience.
• A driver’s licence or reliable transport.
• South African citizenship or a valid work permit.
• Clear credit and criminal records.
