Environmental (HSE) Learnership

Overview:
This qualification is designed to equip learners working in any type of workplace with a broad understanding and knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) concepts and practices. It provides sufficient detail to enable learners to function safely and healthily, while addressing health and safety problems and issues in the workplace.

Purpose:

• To develop learners’ understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental principles.
• To enable learners to function responsibly and independently in workplace safety matters.
• To promote a culture of health and safety in the workplace.
• To support career growth through articulation, recognition, and mobility within the HSE environment.

Learning Outcomes:
Learners who complete this qualification will be able to:

• Identify and evaluate occupational safety, health, and environmental factors that may affect people in the workplace.
• Manage and respond to workplace safety issues independently and effectively.
• Perform essential safety measurements and promote a safe, healthy, and productive working environment.

Industry Need:
There is a critical need within industry to recognise learner competence in operations related to maintaining a healthy, safe, and productive workplace. This qualification serves as an entry point into a career in Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), offering flexibility and mobility across various fields of application.
