homechoice is inviting applications for its Business Administration Learnership based in Cape Town, Western Cape.
This learnership is designed to provide unemployed youth with practical workplace experience and an accredited qualification. The programme aims to develop multi-skilled, entry-level administrative professionals who can support business operations, communication, workplace efficiency, customer service, records management, and general office coordination.
Learners may gain exposure to different functional areas such as reception, front-office administration, human resources administration, finance or banking administration, call centre administration, legal and legislative administration, and general office or project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience supporting day-to-day administrative functions in different business departments.
- Assist with document preparation, filing, data capturing, and general office administration.
- Support internal teams with coordination and administrative processes.
- Help ensure smooth business operations through accurate administration.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service experience.
- Guide customers through product selection, ordering, payments, and after-sales processes where required.
- Resolve basic customer queries and escalate complex issues to the Store Supervisor or Showroom Manager.
- Build customer trust through accurate information and clear expectation setting.
- Maintain knowledge of products, categories, pricing, and promotions.
- Ensure selling and quoting information is accurate and aligned to approved catalogues and systems.
- Capture customer orders, documentation, payments, refunds, and credits accurately and timeously.
- Ensure customer documentation is complete and compliant.
- Maintain accurate records and system entries to support reporting and audits.
- Support basic stock handling activities where required.
- Assist with receiving, stock movement, and floor replenishment.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, visual presentation, and merchandising.
- Follow stock control procedures and report discrepancies or risks.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, quality standards, and internal controls.
- Participate in required training, inductions, and policy sign-offs.
- Escalate risks, errors, or non-compliance when required.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Must be unemployed.
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Interest in building a career in administration or business operations.
- Basic computer literacy.
- MS Office knowledge will be advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Clear criminal record.
- Must be eager to learn and grow in a professional environment.
- Must be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Must have a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
- Must have good organisational and time management skills.
