The University of KwaZulu-Natal is hiring an Intern Graphic Designer for a 6-month fixed-term contract within the Corporate Relations Division.

The role will support the Graphic Design Unit with the design of marketing, communication, digital, print, event, publication, advertising, and multimedia materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the conceptualisation and design of marketing and communication materials.
• Develop digital and print-ready artwork in line with the University's brand standards.
• Assist with social media graphics, campaign materials, and promotional content.
• Support photography, videography, and multimedia projects where required.
• Contribute to the preparation of event, publication, and advertising materials.
• Assist with maintaining design archives and digital assets.
• Perform related duties as required by the Graphic Design Unit.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields:
  • Graphic Design
  • Visual Communication
  • Multimedia Design
  • Related field
• Sound knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including:
  • InDesign
  • Illustrator
  • Photoshop
• Practical working knowledge of Mac-based design environments.
• A portfolio demonstrating skills in:
  • Graphic design
  • Layout
  • Branding
  • Digital content development
• Good communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
