Description

The General Worker will perform manual labour duties to maintain municipal infrastructure, public spaces, and assets. The role involves cleaning, gardening, minor maintenance, and assisting municipal teams in various operational tasks.

Responsibilities

•  Carry out cleaning, digging, planting, sweeping, grass cutting, refuse collection, and general site upkeep
•  Assist with general maintenance of municipal infrastructure and assets
•  Operate basic hand tools and small equipment under supervision
•  Load and offload materials, tools, and equipment
•  Ensure safety at workplace and take precautionary measures for the safety of others
•  Report any faults, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor
•  Support municipal teams during public events, clean-up campaigns, or emergency responses
•  Work cooperatively with other team members and municipal officials
•  Perform general work as directed by the immediate supervisor

Requirements

•  Grade 10 (or equivalent)
•  South African citizen
•  Ekurhuleni resident (Specify Ward Number)
•  Unemployed
•  Not currently participating in CoE Job Creation programme
•  Willingness to learn and take instruction from Supervisors
