The Z83 form can be obtained from any Public Service Department office or through the Department of Public Service and Administration website. The application form must: Be completed correctly. Be originally signed and dated by the applicant. Be accompanied by a detailed Curriculum Vitae containing full details of the applicant’s training, qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and other supporting documents on or before the interview date. Certified documents must not be older than six months. Applicants applying for more than one position must submit a separate Z83 form and the required documentation for each position. Where an applicant applies for more than one position using the same application form, only the first position listed will be considered. Applicants who wish to withdraw an application must do so in writing. Photocopied and faxed application documents will not be accepted. Closing Date 24 July 2026 at 16h00 Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. Important Notes The Department intends to promote employment equity relating to race, gender and disability. Preference may be given to candidates whose appointment, transfer or promotion will improve representivity in accordance with the Department’s Employment Equity Plan. Applications submitted using an incorrect Z83 form or without the required information will be disqualified. Successful candidates will be subjected to personnel suitability checks, which may include: Criminal record checks. Citizenship verification. Financial and asset record checks. Qualification verification. Employment verification. Social media profile checks. Security clearance processes. A successful candidate will undergo full security vetting while employed by the Department. A negative vetting outcome may nullify the employment contract. All shortlisted candidates, including SMS candidates, will undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise, and the other will be an integrity or ethical conduct assessment. The results may be used as an additional criterion during the interview process. Shortlisted candidates for SMS positions will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview. Following these assessments, a maximum of three SMS candidates may undergo psychometric assessments covering cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence and integrity. Successful candidates must disclose their financial interests within one month of appointment. Successful candidates will be appointed on probation for 12 months in accordance with the prescribed rules. Receipt of applications will not be acknowledged. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates.
