Job Description

OUTsurance is inviting applications for the OSS Hastings Learnership based in Centurion, South Africa.

This 18-month structured work-based learnership is designed to give unemployed youth practical workplace experience in a professional call centre and insurance environment. The programme is suitable for candidates who are passionate about customer service, call centre work, and building a career in the financial and insurance industry.

Successful applicants will enter into a fixed-term learnership agreement with OUTsurance. This is not a permanent employment contract, but a learning opportunity that provides workplace experience, structured training, and a monthly stipend.

Learners will gain exposure to call centre operations while developing communication, customer service, professionalism, and workplace readiness skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full 18-month OSS Hastings Learnership programme.
• Gain practical workplace experience in a call centre environment.
• Attend required qualification training sessions on-site.
• Follow workplace instructions, schedules, and training requirements.
• Engage professionally with colleagues, trainers, and customers.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office.
• No work experience is required.
• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
• Must be unemployed.
• Must have been unemployed in the last 6 months.
• Must not have previously participated in an INSETA learnership.
• Must be interested in call centre work.
• Must be interested in gaining experience in the financial and insurance industry.
• Must be willing and able to work according to a pre-determined shift roster.

Working Hours

Learners will be required to work according to a pre-determined roster, which may include:

• Friday to Monday shifts of 9 hours.
• Saturday shifts of 8 hours.
• Sunday shifts of 5 hours.
• Two weekdays off, which may be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
• One day per week dedicated to full qualification training on-site.

Learners may also be required to work a full day on South African public holidays if scheduled, unless it is a public holiday in the United Kingdom.
