Smollan is inviting applications for YES Learners - Merchandiser (40 Hour) at OK Foods Stoneridge in Lethabong, Gauteng.

This 12-month contract opportunity is aimed at candidates who want to gain practical retail and merchandising experience in a fast-paced store environment.

The successful candidate will assist with stock management, visual merchandising, product maintenance, customer service, store cleanliness, and sales support. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about retail, enjoy working with people, and are eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Count, document, and manage stock levels.
• Unpack and organise products.
• Ensure shelves are stocked with the correct products.
• Create attractive product displays.
• Assist with store layouts, signs, and promotional displays.
• Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, and maintained.
• Remove old, damaged, or unsuitable products from shelves and displays.
• Work with marketing, sales, and other teams to support business objectives.
• Provide product advice to customers.
• Handle customer queries, requests, and complaints professionally.
• Keep the store area and storeroom clean, tidy, and uncluttered.
• Maintain accurate stock records and product displays.
• Support excellent customer service and product knowledge in-store.

Requirements

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Must live within 15km of the job location.
• Clear criminal record.
• Must have own smartphone.
• Must have an ID, SARS letter, and bank confirmation letter.
• A Vodacom SIM card is required if the application is successful.
• Must be willing to work shifts.
• Must be comfortable travelling between different stores within a specific area.
