Smollan is inviting applications for YES Learners - Merchandiser positions based in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.

Smollan is looking for Merchandisers who can support retail execution and help create a positive shopping experience for customers.

The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with products, displays, shelves, customers and store teams.

Successful candidates will gain exposure to retail operations, stock management, visual merchandising and customer service.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Counting stock.
• Documenting stock levels.
• Managing stock levels.
• Unpacking products.
• Organising products.
• Creating attractive product displays.
• Planning store layouts.
• Designing signs and advertisements to attract customer attention.
• Ensuring products are properly displayed.
• Ensuring products are correctly priced.
• Maintaining product displays.
• Removing old products.
• Removing damaged products.
• Working with marketing teams.
• Working with sales teams.
• Working with other teams to achieve business objectives.
• Providing product advice to customers.
• Handling customer complaints.
• Responding to customer queries.
• Responding to customer requests.
• Keeping the store area clean.
• Keeping the storeroom clean.
• Keeping the store area tidy and uncluttered.
• Maintaining accurate stock records.
• Maintaining attractive and well-kept store displays.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Applying product knowledge during customer interactions.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric.
• English communication ability.
• Must live within 15km from the job location.
• Must have a clear criminal record.
• Must have own smartphone.
• Must have experience in one of the required retail or sales-related roles.
