Citi South Africa is recruiting graduates for its year-long Markets Learnership Programme in Johannesburg.

The programme provides newly qualified university graduates with practical workplace experience across Citi’s business operations. This opportunity focuses on financial markets, fixed-income products, bonds and interest rates.

Participants will receive training and practical exposure intended to help them establish long-term careers in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Support rates traders working in the bonds and interest-rates market.
• Prepare risk reports for the trading desk.
• Analyse risk reports and other desk-related information.
• Monitor movements in financial markets.
• Prepare commentary on market movements.
• Learn how financial-market risk is managed.
• Learn how prices are determined across different asset classes.
• Analyse macroeconomic information.
• Analyse financial-market trends.
• Communicate with sales traders.
• Communicate with operations teams.
• Help ensure that operational processes are completed efficiently.
• Participate in morning meetings.
• Ensure that processes and procedures relevant to the role remain up to date.
