TFG is hiring a YES Intern: Legal Compliance in the Western Cape.

The role supports the business in maintaining adherence to key regulatory frameworks, including the National Credit Act, Financial Intelligence legislation, Consumer Protection Act, and related financial services regulations.

The role plays a part in facilitating legal compliance locally and across Rest of Africa, helping ensure that the business operates within regulatory requirements while effectively managing risk.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate legal compliance in relation to the National Credit Act.
• Facilitate legal compliance in relation to Financial Intelligence legislation.
• Facilitate legal compliance in relation to the Consumer Protection Act.
• Facilitate legal compliance in relation to financial services-related legislation.
• Assist with facilitating and managing legal compliance in Rest of Africa.
• Draft summaries of regulatory changes and their impact on the business.
• Conduct legal compliance monitoring under the guidance of Legal Compliance Specialists.
• Conduct physical compliance monitoring where required.
• Conduct automated compliance monitoring where required.
• Prepare compliance reporting in relation to credit legislation.
• Prepare compliance reporting in relation to financial services legislation.
• Prepare compliance reporting in relation to financial intelligence legislation.
• Prepare compliance reporting in relation to privacy legislation.
• Assist in clarification meetings with the business regarding monitoring findings.
• Choose monitoring samples.
• Interrogate automated monitoring results as a first line of monitoring.
• Conduct research to support regulatory monitoring.
• Conduct news scanning to support Legal Compliance Specialists with regulatory monitoring.
