Description
PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.
An opportunity exists for a Data Capturer to join the team in the Eugene Marais Pre-Lab Department in Pretoria. We are seeking individuals who display a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.
The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and secure entry of medical and patient data into our laboratory systems, supporting diagnostic quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Capture and verify patient and test data into Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Maintain accuracy and speed of data entry (min 35 wpm)
- Flag incomplete/inconsistent records and follow up
- Comply with privacy regulations and data security
- Assist with audits and quality assurance
- Collaborate with laboratory and admin staff
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office, especially Excel proficiency
- Basic understanding of medical terminology (advantageous)
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute with high accuracy
- Previous typing and administrative experience
- Customer-focused with passion for patient care
- Excellent attention to detail and data checking skills
- Good verbal and written communication
