Job Description

The Social Media Moderator will be responsible for monitoring and managing user interactions across social media platforms for UK-based brands. The role includes reviewing comments, messages, and user-generated content, responding professionally to customer enquiries, enforcing community guidelines, and escalating sensitive issues when necessary.

This is a remote role designed for a motivated and organised individual who can work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate moderation records. The successful candidate will also assist with content scheduling, support brand consistency, and help track online sentiment and emerging trends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and moderate comments, messages, and user-generated content across social media platforms
• Enforce community guidelines and take action on policy violations
• Respond to customer enquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner
• Identify and escalate sensitive issues or trending topics to senior team members
• Track and report on community sentiment and emerging trends
• Assist with content scheduling and publishing across multiple social channels
• Maintain detailed records of moderation actions and decisions
• Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure brand consistency in all interactions

Requirements

• Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident with valid work authorisation
• Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Must have strong computer literacy
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection of at least 10 Mbps
• Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace
