Description

The Eastern Cape Department of Health is recruiting an Administration Clerk: PAIA Coordination at Mthatha Regional Hospital in the OR Tambo District.

The position is responsible for receiving and coordinating Promotion of Access to Information Act requests, maintaining records, supporting reporting and facilitating responses from relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Receive all PAIA requests.
• Coordinate all PAIA responses to Head Office.
• Assist with training facilities within the hub on the management of PAIA requests.
• Help ensure that PAIA requests are answered within the stipulated period.
• Liaise with internal legal advisers.
• Ensure that requests are analysed and quality-checked before being forwarded to requesters.
• Facilitate responses to requests from internal defence teams, including the Office of the State Attorney, State Law Adviser and Legal Service Officials.
• Facilitate monthly reconciliation between requests received, responses issued and information captured on the e-Liability system.
• Load all PAIA requests onto the electronic system.
• Upload supporting documents and all relevant records connected to PAIA requests.
• Manage records.
• Submit information to relevant institutions, including the Auditor-General of South Africa.

Requirements

• A National Senior Certificate or NQF Level 4 qualification.
• No experience is required.
• Basic knowledge of administrative processes.
• Computer literacy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• One year of public-service internship programme experience will be given preference.
