AFGRI Equipment is recruiting 40 motivated candidates for Tractor Mechanic and Earthmoving Mechanic apprenticeships across its South African branch network.
The apprenticeship provides three years of in-service training towards qualification as a Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic.
The first six months will serve as a probation period. After completing probation successfully, the apprentice will enter into a formal contract with AFGRI and begin structured technical and workplace training.

The following Grade 12 subjects will be advantageous but are not compulsory:

Programme Options:
Contract Duration: Three years.
Maximum Contract Period: Four years.
Probation Period: Six months.
During the probation period, both AFGRI and the apprentice may assess whether the programme is suitable. Either party may withdraw during this period without consequences.
After probation, formal training may include:
Training will be supported through AgriSETA or MerSETA.
Training is provided free of charge when the required subjects and training phases are passed. Apprentices who fail subjects or training phases will be responsible for the cost and time required to repeat them.
Apprentices who withdraw after the probation period or during the required work-back period may be required to repay training costs.
The work-back period will equal the time taken to qualify, calculated in years.
The apprenticeship contract will expire if the apprentice does not qualify within four years.
