Discovery is inviting applications for the Learnership: Long Term Insurance (GAU) opportunity.

This learnership offers candidates the chance to complete a nationally recognised FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4 qualification while gaining practical workplace experience in the financial services industry.

The programme is ideal for young, motivated, and detail-oriented individuals who want to build a career in insurance, client service, claims, administration, and health benefits support. Successful candidates will be exposed to a structured learning environment that combines theoretical training with hands-on experience in a professional corporate setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide client service support within a call centre environment.
• Assist with medical aid client servicing processes.
• Support claims administration and related service activities.
• Contribute to new business administration tasks.
• Assist with health benefits administration.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when handling information.
• Work effectively within a team while also managing individual responsibilities.
• Deliver high-quality work in a structured and professional manner.

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric is essential.
• Mathematics with a minimum of Level 4 (50%), or
• Mathematical Literacy with a minimum of Level 5 (60%).
• English with a minimum of Level 4 (50%).
• A second language with a minimum of Level 4 (50%).
• An incomplete tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
• Must not be engaged in post-Matric studies or formal employment.
• Must not have completed any previous learnership.
• Must be between 18 and 25 years old.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Must have basic computer skills, especially in MS Excel and MS Outlook.
