Job Description
Standard Bank of South Africa is inviting applications for the Personal and Private Banking Quality Engineer Graduate Programme in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
This programme is designed to attract graduates with strong technical knowledge who can grow into thought leaders and trusted advisors in quality engineering. It combines theoretical learning with practical workplace exposure.
The successful candidate will gain experience in quality engineering coordination, reporting, defect monitoring, automation alignment, test strategy support, risk management, agile quality practices, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate reporting requirements across quality engineering activities, including test status, defect monitoring, defect resolution, risks, and metrics.
- Help ensure the state of quality engineering is clearly communicated and documented.
- Deliver the consolidated approach to quality engineering and provide input to required deliverables.
- Support compliance with required quality engineering standards.
- Drive alignment of automation initiatives with system teams across relevant portfolios and applications.
- Support standardisation in line with team objectives and strategies.
- Contribute to the overall quality engineering approach in consultation with IT partners.
- Respond appropriately to changes affecting quality engineering delivery.
- Help ensure defined velocity targets are achieved for each iteration or sprint.
- Document and escalate identified risks so delivery expectations are clear.
- Support alignment of quality engineering practices to strategic build initiatives such as Agile, CI, and TDD.
- Ensure participation in demos and pilots with business teams to understand business priorities and risk approaches.
- Help align test approaches to IT Engineering standards and strategic objectives.
- Support the availability of tools and environments for quality engineering activities.
- Execute coordination and tracking of progress across quality engineering activities.
- Quantify and communicate risks to solution delivery to the delivery team.
- Interact with development and environment support teams to resolve test effort blockers.
- Support quality engineering initiatives across the organisation.
- Help motivate and develop quality engineering capability for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team delivers appropriate test summary and acceptance test summary reports.
Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be under 30 years of age.
- Must have no more than 2 years’ work experience.
- Must have a minimum average of 65% across all years of study.
