homechoice is recruiting a TVET Work Integrated Learning Intern to join its IT Technical Support team at the company’s head office in Cape Town.

The 18-month programme provides practical workplace experience for a candidate who has completed a relevant N6 National Certificate and requires Work Integrated Learning to obtain a National Diploma.

The intern will work closely with the experienced homechoice IT team and gain hands-on exposure to technical support in a retail and customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain an understanding of IT technical support in a retail and customer-focused environment.
• Assist with first-line technical support for employees across the business.
• Support the installation of desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices.
• Assist with configuring desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and related equipment.
• Support the maintenance of computer equipment and related devices.
• Log IT support requests.
• Track IT support requests.
• Escalate support requests to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with user-account administration.
• Support system-access requests.
• Assist with hardware troubleshooting.
• Assist with software troubleshooting.
• Maintain IT asset records.
• Support the deployment of IT equipment.
• Provide general administrative support within the IT department.
• Assist with IT projects.
• Support technology initiatives across the business.

Requirements

• A completed N6 National Certificate in a relevant IT field.
