Clicks Group is inviting applications for the Shop Assistant / Cashier X1 opportunity at Clicks The Marc in Sandton, Gauteng.
The purpose of this role is to deliver service excellence through efficient customer service, point-of-sale operations, and merchandising in store that leads to a positive customer experience.
The successful candidate will help execute POS activities, maintain merchandising and housekeeping standards, support promotional activity, and provide friendly, professional service to customers.
Responsibilities
- Execute all operational activities at the point of sale in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy when scanning merchandise and collecting payment for purchased goods, including actioning ClubCard rewards.
- Ensure the safe handling of cash at all times.
- Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard and enroll new members to achieve participation targets.
- Make customers aware of promotions to support sales and help customers feel good and pay less.
- Deliver superior customer service by acting as a brand ambassador.
- Remain visible, friendly, and professional when assisting customers.
- Execute and maintain merchandising duties according to store and visual merchandise standards.
- Carry out general housekeeping duties.
- Support the company vision by living and driving company values.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, ranges, promotions, and events to provide customers with correct information at all times.
Requirements
Education
Experience
- Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG store operations environment is desirable.
Knowledge
- Basic maths calculations.
- Retail or FMCG background and understanding of merchandising and promotions principles.
- Understanding of stock management procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service excellence.
