Cartrack is inviting applications for the position of Collections Agent based in Gauteng.

The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with customers and businesses to recover overdue payments and negotiate suitable repayment arrangements. The role focuses on maximising collections on outstanding accounts while maintaining professional customer service and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable legislation, including the National Credit Act.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with experience in credit control or debt collections who are confident in communicating with customers, managing overdue accounts, and keeping accurate records of all collection activities.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on overdue accounts through calls, emails, and statements.
• Contact customers and businesses regarding outstanding payments.
• Negotiate suitable repayment arrangements with customers.
• Work towards meeting collections targets.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and actions taken.
• Manage accounts according to collection strategies.
• Handle sensitive financial matters professionally and confidentially.
• Ensure all debt collection activities comply with company policies.
• Follow applicable legislation, including the National Credit Act.
• Provide a high standard of customer service during collection interactions.
• Escalate complex or unresolved account matters where required.
• Support the recovery of overdue payments in a professional and ethical manner.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• 1 to 6 years’ experience in credit control or debt collections.
• Strong knowledge of debt collection processes.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers.
• Ability to negotiate payment arrangements.
• Ability to work with sensitive financial information.
• Must be able to maintain accurate records.
• Must be target-driven and able to work in a collections environment.
