The Capital Hotels is inviting applications for a Receptionist position based in Sandton, Gauteng.

The successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests, checking them in and out of the hotel, maintaining guest accounts, processing guest transactions, assisting with reservations, and handling guest requests during their stay.

This role is suited to a professional, presentable, and well-spoken candidate with hospitality experience, strong computer literacy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Check guests in and out of the hotel.
• Maintain guest accounts during their stay.
• Process guest transactions accurately.
• Deal with special needs or requests from guests.
• Assist with guest reservations when required.
• Provide a high level of guest service.
• Handle incidents and guest matters calmly and professionally.
• Work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive guest information.
• Represent the hotel professionally at all times.
• Work shifts according to hotel operational requirements.

Requirements

• Matric.
• Hospitality qualification or similar.
• 1–2 years’ receptionist experience.
• Strong computer literacy.
• MS Office skills.
• Experience using a reputable Property Management System, such as Protel.
• Hands-on problem-solving ability.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to take control of incidents and investigations where required.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently.
