The successful candidates will provide clerical, administrative, registry, document management and general office support services within the Department.
These opportunities are suitable for candidates with a Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification who are computer literate, organised, professional, and able to work with documents, stakeholders, correspondence and office administration tasks.

Responsibilities
Depending on the post, successful candidates may be responsible for:
- Rendering general clerical support services.
- Receiving, recording and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Receiving visitors and providing basic administrative assistance.
- Coordinating enquiries to the Office of the Director-General.
- Maintaining office filing systems.
- Ensuring safekeeping of documents.
- Maintaining office supplies and ensuring stationery availability.
- Capturing data and updating administrative records and databases.
- Providing registry and document tracking support.
- Providing support during interviews, workshops and departmental events.
- Assisting with the preparation, photocopying, scanning and distribution of documents.
- Assisting with Parliamentary enquiries.
- Assisting with travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Assisting with DG projects and sector engagements where required.
- Arranging meetings, venues and logistical requirements.
- Handling telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Supporting coordination of submissions, reports and compliance documents.
- Ensuring accurate record keeping and adherence to administrative procedures.
- Performing general office duties delegated by supervisors or management.
- Providing general office support to the Personal Assistant of the Director-General.
Additional Responsibilities for Curriculum Support Post
The Senior Administration Clerk in Curriculum Policy, Support and Monitoring may also be responsible for:
- Following up on outstanding invoices through procurement and asset sections.
- Working with Provincial Education Department officials in programmes led by the FET Directorate.
- Coordinating leave forms, telephone accounts and administrative submissions.
- Analysing cash flow on a monthly basis.
- Completing and verifying claims for overtime payments.
- Requesting equipment quotations and processing receipt of equipment.
- Arranging workshops and conferences.
- Providing administrative support for workshop and conference functions.
- Making travel arrangements and processing S&T claims.
- Arranging directorate meetings and distributing minutes.
- Supporting meetings with stakeholders and minute-taking.
- Setting up MS Teams meetings when requested.
- Providing secretarial support.
- Writing memos when required.
- Assisting with History Ministerial Task Team work when requested.
- Assisting other Directorates with work-related tasks when requested.
Additional Responsibilities for Registry and Related Services Post
The Senior Administrative Assistant may also be responsible for:
- Providing services on a daily basis to the bank.
- Delivering and collecting documents, mail, parcels and packages.
- Covering mail services.
- Registering mails and parcels within the Department.
- Delivering and collecting mail documents from Post Office, other departments and SITA.
- Sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail to relevant officials.
- Assisting with general administrative duties.
- Filing documents.
- Opening and sorting mail.
- Delivering ordinary mail and parcels to relevant officials.
- Performing other work-related duties as delegated.
