Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is looking for an experienced Cashier to join its store in Roodepoort - Princess Crossing.

The successful candidate will support customer service at the point of sale while helping to deliver a professional and efficient shopping experience. The role involves processing customer transactions accurately on the Dis-Chem operating system while following company policies and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service at the point of sale.
• Establish a positive and professional relationship with customers.
• Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
• Be aware of current sales and promotions.
• Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to unnecessary risk.
• Be responsible for cash flow and daily takings.
• Process purchases and payments including cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and other accepted payment methods.
• Process loyalty cards and partner rewards cards.
• Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe according to company procedures.
• Ensure all outgoing stock, items, and scripts are scanned and paid for.
• Handle customer queries regarding store merchandise.
• Report suspicious behaviour to management.
• Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• At least 6 months’ cashier or till operations experience.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Sound numerical skills.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Basic customer service skills.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.
