The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting applications for Security Officer positions in Gauteng.

There are 2 posts available.

The successful candidates will be responsible for access control, security patrols, safeguarding departmental information, controlling movement in and out of the Labour Centre or Provincial Office, and ensuring compliance with security rules and procedures.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with Matric / Grade 12 / Senior Certificate NQF 4, a Grade C Security Certificate, and valid PSIRA registration.

Responsibilities

• Control access in and out of the Labour Centre or Provincial Office.
• Secure the flow of information.
• Assess visitors entering the Labour Centre or Provincial Office.
• Verify authorisation of visitors.
• Conduct security patrols on the building and office premises.
• Ensure the safety of employees and clients.
• Conduct internal investigations where required.
• Enforce security rules and regulations.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Support a safe and secure working environment.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 / Senior Certificate NQF 4.
• Grade C Security Certificate.
• Must be registered with PSIRA.
• Knowledge of access to public premises and vehicles legislation.
• Knowledge of evacuation procedures.
• Knowledge of MISS.
• Knowledge of labour relations.
• Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
• Knowledge of Public Service Regulations Act.
