The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for Laundry Worker positions at Jubilee District Hospital.

There are 3 posts available within the Admin and Logistics Support directorate.

The successful candidates will support hospital laundry services by collecting, distributing, packing, loading and offloading linen. The role includes handling clean and soiled linen, supporting stocktaking activities, and ensuring that linen services run smoothly within the hospital environment.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with Grade 10 - 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 3 - 5 qualification who can work well in a team, communicate clearly, and work shifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Distribute linen to hospital wards.
• Collect linen from hospital wards.
• Sluice soiled and bloodied linen.
• Pack dirty linen into laundry bags.
• Load dirty linen into the truck to be sent to Masakhane for washing.
• Offload clean linen bags from the service provider.
• Unpack clean linen bags received from the service provider.
• Perform quarterly stocktaking.
• Work shifts when required.
• Work additional hours and overtime when required.
• Go the extra mile when needed.
• Support smooth laundry operations within the hospital.

Requirements

• Grade 10 - 12 or equivalent NQF Level 3 - 5 qualification.
• Hospital environment experience will be an added advantage.
• Laundry experience will be an added advantage.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work shifts when required.
