The Administrative Officer: Agricultural Partnership For Youth Development (Elsenburg) position is based at Elsenburg, Western Cape and forms part of Western Cape Government - Department Of Agriculture. The role carries out the responsibilities and service-delivery functions described below.

Responsibilities

• Supervise implementation and administration of the external developmental initiatives “EDI” Programmes: Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP)
• Agricultural Partnership for Youth Development (APFYD)
• Young Professional Persons Programme (YPP)
• and Premiers Advancement of Youth (PAY)/Fist Working Experience
• Coordination agricultural partnership for youth development projects and internship
• Administer internships, and the Agricultural Partnership for Youth Development and Internship and bursaries programmes
• Perform administrative functions
• Promotion of Agriculture as a career path for youth (travel extensively to promote agriculture as a career of choice throughout the Western Cape province, including working after hours and weekends when required)
• People Management

Requirements

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 1-year relevant experience
• A valid (Code B or higher) driving license. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply

Other

• Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment.
