Standard Bank Group is offering a 24-month Internal Auditing Learnership in Johannesburg.

The programme combines formal training with structured workplace experience. It is intended to equip aspiring internal auditors with foundational auditing knowledge and practical skills while working towards an Occupational Certificate: Internal Auditor.

Successful applicants will gain supervised exposure to audit planning, operational analysis, internal controls, audit documentation, policy compliance and professional workload management.

Responsibilities

• Plan individual audit procedures under supervision.
• Perform audit steps to test specific areas within the organisation.
• Analyse and evaluate departmental operations against accepted business practices.
• Identify control weaknesses and areas where systems could be more effective.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability or reduce costs.
• Prepare recommendations based on audit and investigation findings.
• Prepare and securely maintain audit working papers.
• Collect and retain supporting documents that provide evidence for reported findings.
• Follow applicable Standard Bank Group standards and policies.
• Plan and prioritise assigned work.
• Manage deadlines and personal workload effectively.

Requirements

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must be under 30 years old.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Must hold an undergraduate qualification in one of the following fields or a related discipline:
  • Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Business Management Sciences.
  • Auditing, Finance or Economics.
  • Engineering.
  • ESG or Environmental Studies.
  • Insurance and Risk Management.
  • Risk and Compliance Management.
• Must not be registered for another learnership or internship.
• Must not be studying at another educational institution during the programme.
• No previous employment experience is specified.
