Absa Bank Limited is inviting applications for the Junior Learner opportunity within its Home Loans Collections division in Johannesburg. This 12-month learnership programme is designed to provide young, motivated individuals with structured classroom learning and practical workplace exposure within one of Africa’s leading banking groups.

The programme focuses on developing learners through predefined training objectives, on-the-job experience, customer engagement, and exposure to Home Loans Sales and Service Enablement areas. Successful candidates will gain valuable banking experience while receiving continuous mentoring and training to support their personal and professional development.

Learners will be expected to complete all academic modules and workplace training requirements for the full duration of the programme. Upon successful completion, qualifying candidates will receive a Level 5 NQF Certificate in Banking.

Responsibilities

• Participate fully in the 12-month Absa Home Loans Learnership programme.
• Complete all required classroom-based academic modules.
• Take part in structured on-the-job training within Home Loans Collections, Sales, and Service Enablement areas.
• Engage professionally with customers and support customer service activities.
• Apply problem-solving skills when dealing with customer-related queries and learning tasks.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, proper follow-up, and strong organisational habits.
• Work effectively with team members and communicate clearly in a professional environment.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to learn.
• Follow all programme requirements, assessments, and workplace expectations.
• Commit to the full learnership duration in order to qualify for graduation.

Requirements

• Must be between the ages of 18 and 30.
• Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
• Must have a completed Degree or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Must be unemployed at the time of application.
• Must not be registered for any other learnership at the time of application.
• Must not be registered with another learning institution or currently studying.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be available for the full 12-month duration of the learnership.
• Must attach a detailed CV with relevant contact details and references.
• Must include copies of certificates, identity document, and proof of address.
• Must be willing to complete online occupational assessments.
• Must have no criminal record.
• Must not submit false documentation.
• Must have clear references from previous employers, where applicable.
• Must have a clear credit score.
• Must have no registered employee dismissal record.
