Job Description
Absa is inviting applications for the Learning and Development Junior Learner Programme based in Johannesburg.
This 12-month programme is designed to provide an unemployed learner with practical skills and workplace experience within the Learning and Development field in the banking sector.
The successful candidate will assist with the coordination and administration of learning and development programmes across the organisation. The learner will work closely with the Learning and Development team to support training initiatives, maintain accurate records, assist with logistics, use learning management systems, collect feedback, and contribute to the smooth delivery of Absa’s learning strategy.

Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative tasks related to learning and development programmes.
- Schedule training sessions and support training coordination.
- Manage training attendance and maintain accurate training records.
- Coordinate logistics for training events when required.
- Assist with booking venues, arranging catering, and managing invitations and registrations.
- Communicate with trainers, participants, and stakeholders about training programmes, schedules, and requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance, evaluations, and feedback.
- Compile data and generate reports to track training effectiveness and compliance.
- Use learning management systems and other training platforms to organise, deliver, and track training activities.
- Collect and analyse training evaluations and feedback.
- Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future training initiatives.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies related to training and development.
- Assist with skills development and B-BBEE-related training compliance activities.
- Support other Human Capital initiatives within the business when required.
Requirements
- Must be unemployed.
- Must be available for the full 12 months of the programme.
- Must have a valid Degree or NQF Level 7 equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Must have strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Learning Management System experience or knowledge will be advantageous.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a basic understanding of adult learning principles.
- Must be eager to learn and grow within the Human Capital field.
