Job Description

The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) is inviting applications for its Internship Programme 2026/28 in Sunnyside, Pretoria.

This is a 24-month graduate internship programme running from 01 July 2026 to 30 June 2028. The programme is intended to give qualifying graduates practical exposure, skills, knowledge, and work experience to support meaningful participation in the labour market.

The opportunity is ideal for aspiring public servants who align with the dtic's vision of a dynamic, industrial, and globally competitive South African economy built on inclusive growth, decent employment, and equity.

Responsibilities

• Internship placement responsibilities will depend on the successful candidate’s field of study and the unit where they are placed.
• Interns will be expected to learn, support departmental work, and contribute professionally within their assigned environment.

Requirements

• Must be an unemployed South African graduate.
• Must hold a tertiary qualification at NQF level 6 and above.
