PPS is recruiting a Graduate Advisor for its Graduate Division in Johannesburg West.

This three-year internship is intended to provide a young graduate with a foundation for building a professional career in the financial-services industry.

The successful candidate will work towards becoming a professional Financial Planner by developing a client base among students and young professionals and marketing suitable risk and investment products.

The role is target-driven, and remuneration is incentive-based and linked to sales performance.

Responsibilities

• Work towards becoming a professional Financial Planner.
• Prospect for potential clients among students and young professionals.
• Build and maintain a client base.
• Host financial workshops for students and young professionals.
• Educate existing clients about sound financial principles.
• Guide students and young professionals in making informed financial decisions.
• Liaise with the PPS Marketing Specialist regarding marketing activities.
• Assist with coordinating financial workshops on campuses.
• Arrange appointments with existing PPS student members.
• Explain the PPS student product range and its benefits.
• Sell PPS student products to eligible student members.
• Market risk and investment products through the PPS platform.
• Work towards assigned sales and performance targets.
• Follow financial-industry regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of financial-services products and regulations.
• Continue developing relevant professional qualifications and industry knowledge.
• Participate in mentorship and training provided by experienced managers.

Requirements

• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• A valid South African driver’s licence.
• Own transport.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to use the Microsoft Office package.
• Willingness to work towards sales targets.
• Willingness to receive mentorship and training.
• A long-term interest in becoming a professional Financial Planner.
• Ability to build relationships with students, young professionals and other clients.
