Job Description

Discovery Health is inviting applications for the position of Clinics Administrator within its Talent Pool. This role is responsible for managing administrative functions and supporting nurses at onsite clinics during agreed operating hours.

The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of clinic administration in environments providing Primary Health Care Services, Occupational Health Care Services, or a combination of both. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, service-driven, and able to work accurately in a structured and fast-paced healthcare support environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and confirm appointments to optimise clinic workflow and minimise patient waiting times.
• Update, organise, secure, and store medical files for quick and accurate access.
• Oversee waiting areas.
• Act as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and external stakeholders.
• Monitor stock and consumables and ensure timely procurement.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and standards.
• Assist medical personnel with administrative tasks.
• Address patient queries, resolve complaints, and provide information about clinic services, policies, and procedures.
• Compile and submit key reports to management.
• Order stationery.
• Facilitate calibration, maintenance, and repairs of clinical equipment.
• Manage and facilitate the collection and disposal of medical waste.
• Assist with administration related to incapacity support, case management, and return-to-work coordination.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of working experience in administration.
• Senior Certificate / Matric.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
